Sun public observation during the ESAC Fun Run

The CESAR team set up the solar telescopes for a public observation of the Sun during the ESAC Fun Run on the 11 October 2013. The Fun Run is a yearly social and charity race at the ESAC (European Space Astronomy Center) premises in Madrid.

About 40 people could enjoy the views of the active Sun through the H-alpha and visible filters. At sunset the team removed the visible filter from the front of the white-light telescope, so that the audience could also enjoy the views of Venus (close to Quadrature) during daylight. The observations finished at 23:00 local time.
