The day started with a warm welcome from Javier Ventura-Traveset, Juan Ángel Vaquerizo and María Herranz, who introduced the European Space Agency and explained the important role of ESAC in the scientific operations and data management of major astrophysics and planetary missions.
During the visit, the participants also learned how space science can be connected with education and public outreach. Cooperation with science museums, planetariums and cultural institutions is an important way to bring science closer to society and inspire young people.
