CESAR ESAC radiotelescope is available again

The Vil-1 was unavailable during the last two weeks due to the deployment of the SARAS experiment. It is an antenna array system for the fast acquisition of S-Band satellites developed by INSA. It will be tested during the next months. At the moment they have completed the deployment of the 8 dipolar antennas and the photogrammetric targets.

These targets are used to calibrate the gravitational deformation of the antenna in function of the pointing. It will be very useful for the final characterisation of the antenna as a radio telescope. The final deployment/integration of SARAS will be completed in 6 weeks. The testing plan is being defined at the moment. Meanwhile the radio telescope activities can be recovered.
