CESAR project agreement signature

 Mr. Álvaro Giménez (ESA’s Science and Robotic Exploration Director), Mr. Jaime Denis (INTA’s General Director) and Mr. Miguel Lens (INSA’s Executive Vice-President) signed an education collaboration Agreement for spatial science and astronomy. European students from secondary schools and universities can use an ESA radiotelescope and other 4 telescopes directly from their classroom, using software developed by scientists and engineers involved in the project.

This initiative is CESAR Project (Cooperation through Education in Science and Astronomy Research), which was officially presented at the European Space Astronomy Center (ESAC), in Villanueva de la Cañada, in Madrid.

During the event, Mr. Álvaro Giménez mentioned ”this project is born with a great potential” once integrates the educational and scientific knowledge of the 3 institutions. It is of great interest for instance, that the CESAR control center is based in ESAC, ESA’s science center, since it will allow the synergy with astronomers and engineers working in the campus”.
