Sun Rotation - Mater Salvatoris School
02/November/2017114 studens - 1ºESO - 5 classes
During the morning of the 2nd of November, five classrooms from first grade of high school came to ESAC with the objective of doing the sun rotation scientific case.
In the welcoming of the first turn, our monitors answered lots of questions regarding Galileo navigation system, the functioning of rockets or about the most ambitious missions of ESA. At the end of the short welcoming, we divided the students in two groups, one of them visited the scale models while the other realized the scientific case.
At the scientific case, they learned firsthand the origin of the sunspots and how they help us to measure the sun rotation period. In the meantime, the other group visited the scale of models of important missions like Gaia, Rosetta, Herschel or SoHO.
The second turn of students could repeat the experience with the same success. We must say that the five classrooms were one of the most curious students we ever had and they were full of questions.
