Topographic Planetary Study with Augmented Reality - CEIP San Miguel
01/March/20184th,, 5th and 6th of Primary School
On the 1st of March, students from CEIP San Miguel came to ESAC to work in the scientific experience about topograhic studies using augmented reality.
At the beggining of the visit and after a great welcoming, we split them into two groups. One of them went to the CESAR room to learn about ESA and asked lots of questions about space sciences to our monitors. They also had the opportunity to see and touch 3D printed scale models of ESA's space missions.
In the meantime, the other group was doing the scientific case in which they learnt how to read topographic maps and how to use them for several cases. One of the greatest tools in this scientific case was the agumented reality sandbox, using 3D cameras, a light projector and a sandbox, the students can model different surface features in 3D in real time.
We hope that you enjoyed this experience and we'll see you again soon!
