Eclipse Observatory II
The next solar eclipse is a once-in-a-lifetime science lesson: why only see it when your students can measure it?
In this activity, you'll turn a simple micro:bit in a pocket-sized observatory that records how daylight, temperature, and even patio noise levels decrease as the Moon slides in front of the Sun.

OBJECTIVES:

Create an observatory that measures environmental conditions during a solar eclipse like those in Spain in 2026, 2027 and 2028. In particular:

Build and program a data logger with micro:bit.

Measure in real time the flow of light, ambient noise, and temperature during an eclipse.

Interpret sensor data to relate environmental changes to eclipse phases.
