A dance for three -I

With a tellurium model we can show, in a single tabletop device, the rotation of the Earth, the phases of the Moon and the cycle of day and night. Students assemble the kit and then use it to visualize eclipses and seasons.

AGE: 7–12 years

KEY COMPETENCES (LOMLOE):

  • Competence in science, technology and engineering (STEM).
  • Digital competence (complementary with Stellarium, optional).
  • Personal and social competence and learning to learn.

DIDACTIC OBJECTIVES:

  • Understand the Earth's movements (rotation and translation)
  • Visualize the phases of the Moon.
  • Understand why eclipses happen.
  • Relate the apparent motions of the sky to the actual orbital motion.

MATERIALS:

  • Solar Tellurium Kit.

INCLUSION:

  • Mild cognitive impairment: clear language + pictograms.
  • Partial blindness: auditory description + tactile model
