New 2020 Traineeship opportunities at CESAR

ESAC is opened to new trainee oportunities, in this context CESAR is offering 5 different traineeship oportunities

  • C001: Preparation of science cases for the CESAR education iniciative
  • C002: CESAR Solar Observatory Master Control Programme development
  • C003: Communications ESA-CESAR Trainee
  • C004: CESAR educational Software development
  • C005: CESAR Optical Observatory setup and configuration
WHO CAN APPLY?
 
To apply you must be a national of an ESA Member State or one of its Cooperating States. Member States include: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Canada is a Cooperating State and Slovenia is an associate member. Other EU states also have Cooperation Agreements with ESA, such as Bulgaria, Cyprus, Lithuania and Malta. Latvia and Slovakia are participating in the Plan for European Cooperating States (PECS). Studying in an ESA member state does not contribute to your eligibility for an ESA traineeship.
 
CONDITIONS
 
Traineeships last from three to six months.
 
Traineeships are unpaid, however, a monthly allowance of €600 for non-residents and €300 for residents is granted. A non-resident is defined as someone living more than 50 km from the establishment. The non-resident allowance will also be granted to students with special needs, irrespective of their residency status.
 
Trainees have to provide their own health insurance, accident insurance and travel expenses.
 
Trainees are responsible for finding their own accommodation.

You will be contacted shortly after the deadline if you have been invited for an interview. An interview day at ESAC will be organised for January/February 2020 where you have the opportunity to talk to each tutor of the projects of your interest. If you are unable to attend the interview session, telephone/web interviews will be held.
