Teachers Training

Come to ESAC to learn more about European Space Agency and space science.

Introduction

Since 2016 the CESAR initiative is organizing training courses for primary and secondary school teachers together with the "Centro Territorial de Innovación y Formación" (CTIF) of the Regional Ministry of Education of the Madrid region (Comunidad de Madrid). During four days (from 17:00 to 20:00) scientists and engineers working on ESA missions at ESAC present scientific and technical topics related to astrophysics and space exploration to a total of 65 teachers per course from the Madrid area. After the training course, teachers are evaluated in order to obtain an official certificate, which is valid within the frame work of mandatory teachers training in Madrid. For 2017 it is also planned to transmit those courses on-line to teachers in other provinces of Spain, thus reaching several 100’s of school teachers with each course. Based on that experience our aim is to offer this type of training courses to teachers in all ESA member countries in the future.
